I’ve built Business Analyst Career in 5 years.
If I started again today, here’s what I would do:
Step #1: Learn Business and Domain Knowledge
You should learn how business makes money and operates.
Remember, business has only one goal – to make money, to make profit. In other words, actually the goal of business is to create and keep customers. And the only way for it is to solve their problems. Then you get money in return. In order to learn it, you can watch following resources:
Step #2: Learn Business Analysis Core
Understand just one framework or approach, and it will be enough. It does not matter if it is PMI or IIBA. Either one is good and if you know one, you will know another one also. You can check BACCM™ model as well for start. Goal should be to have BA Mindset. You can check following resources to understand Business Analysis well.
Step #3: Learn Project Management & Agile
Project Management one of the skills that is on rise. PMI is main organization that sets standards of the project management and PMI certifications have higher credibility. Goal should be to have PM Mindset. Check below resources for project management:

Step #4: Learn Data
In 2025, Data is the foundation of every business, process or project. EVERYTHING! You can not almsot make decision now without data. Even if you make decision based on gut, it is 50% gut and 50% data. That is why now data-driven decision making is the core part of the all businesses. Check following resources about data:

Step #5: Learn IT & Cloud
AWS demonates cloud market with about 1/3 share. This is wirth to explore and understand how it works. And all other info about IT systems, APIs and more just will help you to work better. Try to explore tools and technologies. Use following resources to start:

Step #6: Learn Process Language & Docs
Yes, AI is here and helps you to write. But in order to write best you have to know how to write and then to ask AI how and what to write. long sentense haha

Step #7: Learn Career Booster
To know everything is good, but if you can not show it in your CV, communication and in social media especially in LinkedIn, you will not go further.
